Attention
is a responsibility.
For the reader, the maker and the work itself.
The work comes first
Our story is about the image, object, sound, performance or idea. A maker’s biography matters when it helps us understand the work, not as a substitute for close attention.
Named evidence
Museum records are linked on artwork pages and at the end of the stories they inform. Interpretation is presented as interpretation; observed facts are tied to a source.
Image rights
The current visual archive uses source records marked public domain through the Met Open Access programme. Contemporary artists and contributors require individual permissions. Display permission is not treated as automatic permission to reproduce an image in a product.
No invented interviews
These initial pieces are editorial interpretations of documented works, not reported interviews or firsthand visits. We do not imply conversations with living creators that did not occur.
Independence and commerce
The proposed Shop is a development catalogue. There is no live checkout or subscription. We will not present a prototype as a manufactured item or use artificial scarcity to imply an edition exists.
Corrections and credits
Artist attributions, dates, object titles and source references should be reviewed when an institutional record changes. A dedicated public corrections contact has not yet been established for this edition.
